Down to Earth Landscapes

Christie Green established Down to Earth, LLC in 1999. She has extensive design and installation experience working with residential, commercial and non-profit clients in northern New Mexico to develop and implement large- and small-scale native and edible landscape projects. Ms. Green also consults with and advises individuals, schools, plant nurseries and public agencies to educate about the importance of native plant species, edible landscapes and innovative land restoration techniques.

Ms. Green has organized and participated in restorative farming, organic agriculture, heirloom gardening and seed saving and ornamental gardening educational workshops, focusing on soil building, resource management and innovative cultivation techniques. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in cultural history of the western U.S. and continued studies in ecology, with an emphasis on the study of soil and native plant and animal species, and is proficient in French and Spanish. Ms. Green is also a contributing writer to each quarterly edition of edible Santa Fe.

Ms. Green enjoys educating and learning from novice and experienced gardeners, children and heritage gardeners alike and is committed to enlivening our experience with, and relationship to our natural world: fondle plants, delve into soil and delight in the wild!
